community tile project

Join us in our ambitious long-term project of making tiles to tile both the ESP Pottery Main Street building AND some future TBD spaces.

On sunny days when it’s warm enough, we’ll put our street table out with a little kit for you to explore your creativity.

Come grab a little paintbrush and a tile... Make your permanent mark!

While I’ve labeled this as a kids’ project, believe me, we welcome adults! I have the tile painting station out on many nice-weather days. (If I forget, please stop in and ask!)

A teaser…

Love these!

We have a color theme for this part of the project

An Arts on Main event kicked off our new Community Tile Kids’ Edition for our next (secret) project. :)

Our second doorstep! This one includes many of the pandemic-painted tiles. I noticed a LOT of happy suns were painted during this time, so I chose to use that as a theme when I laid it out.

We did my leaking front step the first year with tiles I made at home during the building purchase process

From our grand opening party on, I set up a little tile painting station inside the shop.

Our first community installation was our spectacular bathroom. MUCH more on this here

When the pandemic forced state shutdowns in Spring 2020, I decided to set up the kit outside as a COVID-safe activity

Thanks to ALL of you who stopped and participated!

Quite a few dogs were involved

Along with my own slip pouring pandemic project, we had plenty of tiles by Summer 2021 to start installing

Laid out and ready to install

Installed on the gallery doorstep, it also finally solved the remaining leaking problem.

Moving on!

With the doorstep done, I moved on to our studio stairwell. This one will have more of our studio members’ tiles.

During shutdown I sometimes noticed people at the table, but often found the little tiles later, like magic :)

Some behind the scenes work on the bathroom tiles.
